What's So Special About Muskegon?

WHAT'S SO SPECIAL ABOUT MUSKEGON?
Just imagine how great it would be to live and work in an area that enjoys over 30 miles of Lake Michigan sugar sand beaches, 18 inland lakes, dozens of trout streams, sand dunes and three state parks all within a few minutes' drive. And, what if that same area offered almost unlimited year-round entertainment? What if there were a superb resident performing arts center, a symphony orchestra, half a dozen festivals each year featuring name entertainment and a free community party with live music every Friday night all summer long?

What if that same community had a professional hockey team, the state's largest amusement park, miles of lighted ski trails and an art museum with such a noted collection that the Smithsonian has borrowed from it repeatedly?

And what if that same community was home to such well-known companies as Brunswick, Alcoa/Howmet, Pratt & Whitney Component Solutions, Knoll Furniture and Dana Corporation? And what if that community was attracting new retail developments at a rapid pace and what if that community had just built a new higher education center which allows resident to earn degrees from three colleges and universities without leaving town?

There is such a community and it's right on the shore of Lake Michigan in what the W.E. Upjohn Institute called the fastest growing ADI in Michigan. It's Muskegon, Michigan, and if you haven't heard much about it, you will.
