SUBSCRIPTIONS

Within the Chronicle service delivery area the following subscription rates apply:

  • Home delivery by carrier: $13.55 per month
  • Home delivery by motor route: $14.05 per month
  • Tri-Cities weekends only: $9.00 per month
For those outside The Chronicle service delivery area the following mail subscription rates apply (newspapers are delivered 1-3 days following publication):
  • Within Michigan: $12.50 per month
  • Outside of Michigan: $13.50 per month
  • Sunday-only by mail: $1.75 per week

ENGAGEMENTS, WEDDINGS AND ANNIVERSARIES

To announce an upcoming engagement, wedding or anniversary, visit our office at 931 Third Street or call (231)725-6342 or (231)725-6340. To make sure that all informatin is accurate, we encourage you to fill out the appropriate event form. You can call one of the phone numbers and have a form sent to you, stop in and pick one up or print the form on your printer. Announcements generally appear in the Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday Chronicle.

    Photo Guidelines

    Photos may accompany the announcement. Both color and black and white will reproduce in The Chronicle, just make sure the images are sharp. The faces in your picture should be at last the size of your thumb and looking forward for the best reproduction. Place your name and address on the back on your photo so we may return it after publication. If your photo was taken by a commercial photography studio, a Photo Republication Notice must be submitted with your photo.

  • OBITUARIES AND DEATH NOTICES

    If you would like to place a death notice in the paper, call Mary Franklyn at (231)725-6342 or stop in the office during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and fill out the notice form. The information may also be given by the funeral home or printer on your printer. If you would like to have an obituary published, contact Linda Allard in the Classified Department at (231)725-6310 for more information.

  • BACK ISSUES

    The cost of back issues is 50 cents for the Monday through Saturday edition and $1.25 for the Sunday paper when purchased in person at The Chronicle offices. Papers may be picked up at the cashier's office at the Chronicle. We accept checks, cash and bankcards as payment.

    To have a back issue mailed to you, the cost is $2.50 for the Monday through Saturday edition and $5.00 for the Sunday paper. Send a check for the appropriate amount along with a note indicating the date(s) of the newspapers that you are interested in obtaining to:

    Papers are kept for one year after publication. If you need a paper that is more than a year old, they are available on microfilm at the Hackley and Norton Shores public libraries. We do not sell articles. If you need an article out of a specific issue, you will have to buy the whole paper. If you do not know which issue you are looking for, you may contact the Chronicle librarian Mary Franklyn at (231)725-6386.

    For breaking news, please call (231)725-6360, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. After hours, call InfoSoure at (231)722-4000 or (616)844-6050 in the Tri-Cities area and enter selection number 1315.

    PHOTO REPRINTS

    If you see a photo in the paper that you would like to have a copy of, contact our librarian Mary Franklyn at (231)725-6386 or stop in, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and fill out a photo request form. Only the photos printed in the paper, by our photographers, are available. You will need to know the date the photo was published, a brief description of the photo, and if possible, the page and section where the photo appeared. Cost for a 8x10 copy, is $20 a print. It will take about 2-3 weeks for delivery.

  • PAGE REPRINTS

    If there is a page that you'd like to have a reprint of, contact our librarian, Mary Franklyn, at (231)725-6386 or stop in, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and fill out a page reprint request form. You will need to know the date and page number that the page was published, Cost for a reduced 9x15-1/2 Inch copy, is $20 a print. It will take about 2-3 weeks for delivery.

  • HOW TO PLACE AN ADVERTISEMENT

    To place a classified advertisement, click here and fill out our classified ad form. You can also call our Classified Ad-Visors at (231)726-3200 between the hours of 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM - Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM - Saturday, or visit The Chronicle at 981 Third St. (at Clay) between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM -Monday through Friday.

    HOW TO BECOME A CHRONICLE CARRIER

    The Chronicle welcomes inquiries from responsible people of all ages. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a Chronicle carrier, contact the Circulation Department for more information at (231)728-9554 or complete the Chronicle Carrier Application.

  • TO TOUR THE CHRONICLE

    Tours of the newspaper are available to groups of persons 12 and older (6th grade and up). Tours are given Tuesday through Thursday. Groups meet in the lobby at the Chronicle at 11:30 a.m. and last between 30 - 45 minutes. For available tour dates call Marty Mattson (231)725-6390.
